Assassination Classroom watch order

A tentacled creature that blew up most of the Moon promises to destroy Earth in a year, unless the misfits of Class 3-E can kill him first. In the meantime he insists on being their homeroom teacher. Yusei Matsui's manga became two TV seasons, a recap film, a 2026 film of cut chapters and a few shorts.

First time? Watch Season 1 and Season 2, which tell the whole story. Afterwards, Our Time (2026) and the Kagaijugyou-hen shorts add chapters the TV series skipped.

First-timer order

The two TV seasons tell the complete story. Everything after them is a bonus: Our Time and the shorts add cut chapters, 365 Days is a recap, and Koro-sensei Quest is a parody.

  1. Assassination Classroom TV, 2015, 22 episodes

Lerche's first season: Class 3-E meets Koro-sensei and the government's Karasuma, and their assassination attempts turn into lessons. Covers the school trip, the transfer students and the summer island resort.

  2. Assassination Classroom Second Season TV, 2016, 25 episodes

Starts with the summer festival and runs to the end of the manga: the second semester, Koro-sensei's past and the class's final decision. Lists that number episodes straight through call these 23–47.

  3. Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time Movie, 2026, 1 episode

A 10th-anniversary film by Lerche that animates chapters cut from the TV series, giving more time to students the show skimmed over. Its frame is set shortly before graduation, but it's made for people who have finished the series; watch it after Season 2.

  4. Assassination Classroom: Kagaijugyou-hen (optional) ONA, 2016, 8 episodes

Eight five-minute shorts released online while Season 2 aired, animating two manga chapters the TV series left out (Takebayashi's Time and Sovereign Time, 2nd Period). Watch them after Season 2, or skip them.

  5. Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days' Time (optional) Movie, 2016, 1 episode

A compilation film: Nagisa and Karma, now adults, revisit the old 3-E classroom, and the year is retold through footage from the series. Almost all of it is recap, so it's optional, and it spoils the ending; watch it after Season 2.

  6. Koro-sensei Quest! (optional) ONA, 2016–17, 12 episodes

A chibi fantasy parody based on a spin-off manga: Class 3-E are students at a magic school who have to defeat the Demon King, Koro-sensei. Not canon; skip it unless you want more of the cast.

Story order

Episode 0 is a prequel, and the Jump Festa special is an alternate take on Season 1's school trip. The extras that animate cut chapters go after Season 2, since they're meant for people who know the whole story. 365 Days' frame is set years later.

  1. Assassination Classroom: Meeting Time (Episode 0) (optional) Special, 2014, 1 episode

A ten-minute prequel by the TV staff: Koro-sensei remembers first meeting Karasuma, played for laughs. Shown at Jump Festa and included on the first Blu-ray. Optional, but it goes before Season 1.

  2. Assassination Classroom TV, 2015, 22 episodes

Lerche's first season: Class 3-E meets Koro-sensei and the government's Karasuma, and their assassination attempts turn into lessons. Covers the school trip, the transfer students and the summer island resort.

  3. Assassination Classroom: Jump Festa 2013 Special (optional) Special, 2013, 1 episode

A pilot made before the TV series by a different studio (Brain's Base), adapting the Kyoto school trip. Season 1 covers the same story in episodes 7–8, so this is an alternate version, not extra story.

  4. Assassination Classroom Second Season TV, 2016, 25 episodes

Starts with the summer festival and runs to the end of the manga: the second semester, Koro-sensei's past and the class's final decision. Lists that number episodes straight through call these 23–47.

Explained

Do I need the specials, shorts or movies?

No. Season 1 and Season 2 adapt the whole manga from start to finish. Our Time and the Kagaijugyou-hen shorts are the only extras with new story content; everything else is a recap, an alternate version or a parody.

Is 365 Days' Time a sequel?

Not really. It opens with Nagisa and Karma as adults visiting their old classroom, then retells the year almost entirely with footage from the TV series. It's a recap with a short new frame, and it spoils the ending, so only watch it after Season 2.

What is Our Time (2026)?

A new film from 2026 for the anime's 10th anniversary, by the same studio. The TV series cut some manga chapters for time, and this film animates some of them, with more focus on the quieter members of the class. It isn't a recap. It opened in Japan in March 2026 and came to Crunchyroll with an English dub in July 2026.

Is there filler?

Not in the usual sense. The anime did the opposite and left chapters out. Kagaijugyou-hen (two chapters) and Our Time put some of them back.

What about the live-action films?

There are two live-action films, Assassination Classroom (2015) and Assassination Classroom: Graduation (2016). They're a separate retelling and aren't part of this order.
