The Devil is a Part-Timer! watch order
Beaten by the Hero Emilia, the Demon King Satan flees through a portal and lands in modern Tokyo as a powerless human. Now called Sadao Maou, he takes a job at a fast-food restaurant and works his way up, while the Hero follows him to keep watch. Based on Satoshi Wagahara's light novels.
First time? Watch Season 1, then Season 2 and Season 2 Part 2 (sometimes called Season 3). That's the whole anime.
Story order
The three TV entries run straight through the light novels (volumes 1–10). The Chiichai shorts are gag extras with no place in the story, so they're at the end.
- The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Season 1)
White Fox's season adapts light novel volumes 1–2: Maou and Ashiya settle into Tokyo life, Emi and Chiho enter the picture, and old enemies from Ente Isla come after them.
- The Devil is a Part-Timer!! (Season 2)
Nine years later, with a new studio (Studio 3Hz) but the same voice cast. Adapts volumes 3–5 in order: a little girl called Alas Ramus appears and calls Maou and Emi her parents, then a beach-house job in Choshi.
- The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Season 2 Part 2
The second cour of Season 2, adapting volumes 6–10: MgRonald reopens with a café, and Acieth Alla arrives. It moves quickly through volumes 8–10. A skippable recap special aired the week before it started.
- Chiichai! Maou-sama!! (optional)
About-a-minute chibi comedy shorts posted on the official X and YouTube accounts while Season 2 aired. No story; skip freely.
Release order
Everything in the order it came out. The Chiichai shorts ran alongside both halves of Season 2.

Explained
Is there a Season 3?
Not yet. Many sites call the 2023 cour "Season 3", but in Japan it's the second part of Season 2. No new season has been announced as of October 2026.
Why does Season 2 look and feel different?
It came nine years after Season 1 and moved from White Fox to Studio 3Hz, with new character designs. The Japanese and English main casts stayed the same. It's also slower and more slice-of-life, and brings in more of the Ente Isla lore once Alas Ramus arrives.
Is it dubbed?
Yes, all three TV entries. Funimation dubbed Season 1, and Crunchyroll dubbed both parts of Season 2 with the same lead actors.
Where do I continue in the light novels?
Season 2 Part 2 ends with volume 10, so start at volume 11. Part 2 rushes volumes 8–10, so some readers start at volume 8 instead. The main series finished with volume 21 in 2020, and Yen Press publishes it in English.
