Magi Watch Order
Aladdin, a boy who carries a djinn in his flute, teams up with the dreamer Alibaba and the freed slave Morgiana to conquer the magical dungeons scattered across an Arabian Nights-style world. Based on Shinobu Ohtaka's manga, with a prequel about the young king Sinbad.
First time? Watch The Labyrinth of Magic, then The Kingdom of Magic, then the prequel Adventure of Sinbad (the TV series, not the OVA).
Story Order
Adventure of Sinbad happens years before Aladdin leaves his dungeon, so it goes first. The OVA is left out because the TV series includes it.
- Magi: Adventure of Sinbad
A prequel set years before Aladdin's story: Sinbad's childhood, his first dungeons, Baal and Valefor, and his travels to Reim, Sasan and Artemyra, up to about chapter 55 of the spin-off manga. Includes everything in the OVA plus a new first episode and seven more. Best watched after the main series, since it explains characters you already know.
- Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Manga chapters 1 to about 109: the Amon dungeon (episodes 1–3), Morgiana's rescue, the Balbadd revolution (7–17), Sindria and the Zagan dungeon. The last few episodes change and shorten the manga's version of events, including an anime-only form for Alibaba.
- Magi: The Kingdom of Magic
Chapters 110 to 198, following the manga closely: the pirate arc, the group setting off on separate journeys, Reim and Titus (episodes 7–12), and the war over the magic city of Magnostadt (13–25). The anime stops here, at the end of manga volume 20, a little past the halfway point.
Release Order
The order everything came out. This is also the best first watch: Adventure of Sinbad leans on knowing Sinbad, Ja'far and Masrur from the main series.

- Magi: Adventure of Sinbad (OVA) (optional)
Five episodes sold with the Adventure of Sinbad manga, covering young Sinbad's first two dungeons, Baal and Valefor. The 2016 TV series reuses them as its episodes 2–6 and goes further, so skip this if you watch the TV version.

Explained
Should I watch Adventure of Sinbad first?
Most guides say no: start with The Labyrinth of Magic. Sinbad is a prequel, but it's more fun once you know who he becomes, and the main series doesn't need it. Story order (Sinbad first) works well for a rewatch.
OVA or TV for Adventure of Sinbad?
The TV series. Its episodes 2–6 are the five OVA episodes, and it adds a new opening episode and seven more after them, so the OVA has nothing the TV version lacks.
Does the anime follow the manga?
Mostly. The end of The Labyrinth of Magic changes some events and adds an anime-only power-up for Alibaba, but The Kingdom of Magic follows the manga closely. Neither season has filler episodes.
Where does the anime end, and will there be a Season 3?
The Kingdom of Magic ends at chapter 198 (the end of volume 20) of a 369-chapter manga that finished in 2017. To continue, start the manga at chapter 199, volume 21. As of October 2026 no third season or other continuation has been announced, and none of the Sinbad sequel either.
Is Magi dubbed?
Yes. Aniplex of America dubbed both main seasons (Erica Mendez as Aladdin, Erik Kimerer as Alibaba, Matthew Mercer as Sinbad), and Netflix dubbed Adventure of Sinbad. The OVA has no known English dub.
