Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha watch order

Nanoha collects the Jewel Seeds with Yuuno and keeps clashing with Fate, a lonely girl hunting the same seeds for her mother. The start of the TV continuity.

Six months later, Nanoha and Fate face the Wolkenritter knights, who serve a girl named Hayate and the Book of Darkness. The last episode jumps six years ahead to set up StrikerS.

A seven-minute still-image comedy from the first season's Blu-ray box, with Subaru, Teana and Vivio hosting a mock radio show. It spoils A's, so watch it after A's or 2nd A's, if at all. Optional.

Ten years after A's, Nanoha, Fate and Hayate are officers in the Bureau and run a new unit, Riot Force 6, where they train four rookies: Subaru, Teana, Erio and Caro. Continues the TV line only; there's no film version.

A seven-minute still-image comedy from the StrikerS Blu-ray box that imagines the whole cast as students and teachers at one school. Non-canon. Optional.

Four years after StrikerS, Nanoha's adopted daughter Vivio (the child from StrikerS) takes up competitive magical martial arts and meets the fighter Einhard. A lighter sports story, best after StrikerS.

About a year after ViVid, orphan Fuuka is trained by Einhard to face her former best friend Rinne in the ring. ViVid's cast return in support. Far darker than ViVid.

Two bonus episodes from the Blu-rays, numbered to go between episodes 5 and 6. Optional.

The rest of the season, building to Fuuka and Rinne's rematch.

A bonus 13th episode from the Blu-rays, set after the finale. Optional.

A 130-minute retelling of the first TV season with new animation, Fate brought in earlier and more of her mother's backstory. It starts the film continuity; some fans prefer it to the first season.

A 150-minute retelling of A's that rewrites parts of the story and drops some scenes. Needed for Reflection and Detonation, which follow on from it.

A seven-minute still-image comedy from the A's Blu-ray box, continuing the Medical Girl Shamal gag from the 2nd A's Blu-ray. Non-canon. Optional.

The first half of a new two-film story in the film continuity, set shortly after 2nd A's: two sisters from another world arrive on Earth looking for a way to save their home. Loosely based on the PSP games The Battle of Aces and The Gears of Destiny. Ends on a cliffhanger.

The direct conclusion to Reflection. Watch them back to back.

A new TV series by Seven Arcs, set in the film continuity after Detonation, with a new lead, Shiina Kuze, who works for EXCEEDS, a UN agency fighting invasive alien species. Aired July to September 2026.
