Oshi no Ko watch order

A doctor is reborn as one of the secret twins of Ai Hoshino, the idol he adored, and grows up in show business chasing the truth behind what happened to her. Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's manga, animated by Doga Kobo: three TV seasons so far, with a final season announced.

First time? Start with Season 1, and give the feature-length first episode its full running time. Then Season 2 and Season 3. There's nothing to skip.

Release order

One continuous story, numbered 1–35 across the three seasons. Release order is story order, and there are no filler episodes, OVAs or films to fit in.

  1. Oshi no Ko TV, 2023, 11 episodes

Episode 1, "Mother and Children", runs about 80 minutes and covers the whole first manga volume: the twins' birth and childhood with Ai. Episodes 2–11 follow Aqua and Ruby into the industry: a TV drama, the dating reality show and the new B-Komachi's first concert.

  2. Oshi no Ko Season 2 TV, 2024, 13 episodes

Episodes 12–24. Most of the season is the 2.5D stage play of "Tokyo Blade" that Aqua, Kana and Akane perform in; the last few episodes turn back to Aqua's search for his father.

  3. Oshi no Ko Season 3 TV, 2026, 11 episodes

Episodes 25–35. Ruby's career takes off, a scandal hits B-Komachi, and the story heads into the film about Ai's life. The finale is an hour long and stops partway through that movie arc.

Explained

Is the first episode really a movie?

No, but it's long. "Mother and Children" is episode 1, about 80 minutes without ads. It ran in a few Japanese cinemas a month before the TV broadcast, which is why it's sometimes called a film. There's nothing extra to find: watch episode 1 as listed and you've seen it. It ends on a turn that the rest of the series is built around, so don't judge the show by its first half hour.

Is the anime finished?

Not yet. Season 3 ended in March 2026 at roughly chapter 127 of the manga's 166, in the middle of the movie arc. A fourth and final season was announced right after the Season 3 finale; a trailer followed in August 2026, but no premiere date had been set as of October 2026. The manga ended in November 2024 at 16 volumes, so the whole story exists if you want to read ahead.

Where do I pick up the manga after Season 3?

Start at chapter 127 (volume 13). Season 2's final episode borrows a scene from much later in the manga, chapter 109, so don't be thrown if you meet it again while reading.

What about the live-action version?

There's an eight-episode live-action drama on Prime Video (2024) and a film, Oshi no Ko: The Final Act, released in Japanese cinemas in December 2024. Together they adapt the entire manga, ending included. It's a separate retelling, not part of the anime, and it will spoil everything the anime hasn't reached yet.

Is there an English dub?

Yes. Sentai Filmworks licenses the series: Seasons 1 and 2 were dubbed for HIDIVE, and Season 3 streamed with an English dub on Crunchyroll, which has also been adding the earlier seasons.
