Tougen Anki watch order
A modern take on the Momotaro folktale where the oni are the heroes. Shiki Ichinose learns he's a descendant of oni when his adoptive father is killed by a Momotaro, and he's taken to Rasetsu Academy to learn to control his berserk blood. Based on Yura Urushibara's Weekly Shonen Champion manga; subtitled Legend of the Cursed Blood in English.
First time? Watch the 24-episode first season, then the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc (season 2, airing from October 2026). The Onimomomomo chibi shorts are optional.
Story order
The TV seasons continue straight on from each other. The mini anime is a gag spin-off that assumes you know the cast, so it's listed after season 1 here.
- Tougen Anki (Season 1)
Two consecutive cours with no recap episodes. Episodes 1–12 cover Shiki's arrival at Rasetsu Academy, Mudano's tag-game training and the Kyoto arc, where the class helps the local oni unit; episodes 13–24 are the Nerima arc, a field trip that goes badly wrong. New opening and ending from episode 13.
- Tougen Anki Mini Anime (Onimomomomo) (optional)
Chibi comedy shorts released weekly on YouTube alongside the first season, starting with an episode 0 in which the students act out the Momotaro folktale. Supervised by the manga's author but not part of the story. A second batch runs alongside season 2. Optional.
- Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc (Season 2, Part 1)
Classmate Ikari Yaoroshi leaves the academy to side with the rebel Oni Brigade, and Shiki and friends chase him to Nikko, where Kegon Falls has been stopped and a Momotaro Agency laboratory experiments on oni. Airing from October 2, 2026; this is the first half of a 24-episode split cour, with the second half to come.
Release order
The mini anime's episode 0 came out three weeks before the TV premiere in July 2025, and the shorts then ran alongside the season. Season 2 began in October 2026 after two recap specials aired on Japanese TV.

Explained
Is the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc season 2?
Yes, that's how it's marketed, even though the title is an arc name. It's a 24-episode season split into two cours: 12 episodes from October 2026 and the rest later, with no date yet. Databases that show it as 12 episodes are counting the first half only.
Why so many titles?
The Japanese title is Tougen Anki (also written Tōgen Anki). The anime's English subtitle is Legend of the Cursed Blood; the manga's English edition is called Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise. The sequel appears as Nikko Kegon Falls Arc or Nikko Kegon no Taki-hen.
Was there a recap or a break in season 1?
No recap episodes. Episode 15 was pushed back a week in October 2025 because of a Japanese schedule change, and the opening and ending changed at episode 13, but it's one continuous run. Two recap specials covering the Kyoto and Nerima arcs aired in Japan just before season 2 started; they're skippable.
Who are the good guys?
The oni. In this world the Momotaro Agency, descended from the folk hero, hunts oni, and Rasetsu Academy trains young oni to survive. Shiki is an oni who was raised by a former Momotaro, which is the heart of the story.
Where can I watch it in English?
Crunchyroll streams both seasons with a same-day English dub by Bang Zoom, and season 1 is also on Netflix, Prime Video and Hulu in the US. The Onimomomomo shorts are only on the official Japanese YouTube channel.
