Yowamushi Pedal watch order
Sakamichi Onoda is a shy anime fan who rides a granny bike up a steep hill to Akihabara every week, until Sohoku High's cycling club discovers he's a natural climber. Five TV seasons follow the club through two national Inter-High road races, with a new-story movie, a spin-off film and three recap films along the way.
First time? Watch Yowamushi Pedal and Grande Road, then The Movie, Spare Bike, New Generation, Glory Line and Limit Break. Skip the three Re: recap films.
First-timer order
The recommended order. It's release order with Special Ride moved after Season 1, since it was sold before the show started but spoils nothing and needs the characters. The Re: films are recaps; skip them unless you want a refresher.
- Yowamushi Pedal
Season 1. Onoda joins Sohoku's cycling club, finds out he's a climber, survives the first-years' race and training camp, and the team heads into the three-day Inter-High against champions Hakone Academy.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Special Ride (optional)
Optional. A 20-minute side story starring Onoda and Makishima, sold with a volume of the manga two months before the TV series began. It assumes you know the characters, so watch it after Season 1.
- Yowamushi Pedal Re:RIDE (optional)
Optional recap film. Condenses Season 1 with a little new framing footage. Skip it if you've watched the season.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road
Season 2 (episodes 39–62 overall). Picks up straight from Season 1 and carries the first Inter-High through to the finish line.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Re:ROAD (optional)
Optional recap film of Grande Road with some new cuts. No new story.
- Yowamushi Pedal: The Movie
A new story written by the manga author, Wataru Watanabe. Set after the first Inter-High while the third-years are still on the team: Sohoku and its rivals race in a mountain event in Kumamoto. Not required, but well liked, and it fits right after Grande Road.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike
An hour-long film adapting the Spare Bike spin-off manga: flashbacks to Makishima's first year at Sohoku and to how Toudou started racing, plus a short comedy segment with Hakone's Arakita. A prequel by story, but it's made for viewers who already know these rivals, so watch it after Grande Road.
- Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation
Season 3 (episodes 63–87). The third-years have retired, Onoda starts his second year with new first-years and a new captain, and the second Inter-High begins.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Re:GENERATION (optional)
Optional recap film of New Generation with a few new scenes.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line
Season 4 (episodes 88–112). Continues the second Inter-High straight from New Generation.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break
Season 5 (episodes 113–137). The final day of the second Inter-High, ending with the race's last sprint. This is where the anime currently stops.
Story order
Spare Bike moves to the front because its flashbacks are set before Season 1. It works better after Grande Road, once you know the third-years it's about.

Explained
Which films can I skip?
Re:RIDE, Re:ROAD and Re:GENERATION are compilation films that retell Season 1, Grande Road and New Generation with a little new footage. Skip them. The Movie (2015) and Spare Bike (2016) are new stories; neither is needed for the TV plot, but both are worth watching after Grande Road.
How do the seasons line up with the races?
Seasons 1 and 2 build up to and finish the first Inter-High, one race split across two seasons. Seasons 3, 4 and 5 are the second Inter-High, again one race spread over three seasons; Limit Break is its final day. Episode numbers run on continuously (Limit Break is episodes 113–137).
Is there an English dub?
No. Every season and film is subtitled only. Funimation added the whole series to its catalog in 2021 without dubs, and the series streams subtitled on Crunchyroll.
Will there be a Season 6?
Nothing has been announced as of October 2026. Limit Break ends with the second Inter-High, and the manga, which has passed 100 volumes, is still running well beyond that point.
